What a great week, regressing into my almost roots (after 23 years in this business the roots are very long).
First job of the week comprised an NT 4 server with RAID and a broken network card, mission to retrieve the data, mission accomplished via an old 30GB IDE HDD and an IDE to USB conversion cradle.
Then a Win 95 Laptop with a broken network dongle, mission to retrieve an old windows CRM system and data, get it running on a Windows 7 laptop, many library files later, hyperterminal, ll3 and a serial laplink cable it worked.
I threw my old laplink cables out a few weeks ago, why....I usually keep everything especially if they are bright blue and yellow.... (I have now replaced them in an ebay purchase just in case)
Hard work but strangely rewarding!
Don't worry Windows 2010, Windows Server, SBS, Hyper-V and VMware I'm back in the present this week.
